High School Benefit Dance

Students with a purpose, SWAP, is happy to announce their Spring 2010 fundraiser for H.E.L.P. Malawi and Friends of the Lost Boys. SWAP will be hosting a benefit dance for high school students on Saturday April 24th at the House of Blues.
The Malaki (Angel) Award Dinner
January 26, 2010
The Malaki (Angel) Award Dinner was held on January 26, 2010 at Massimo di Milano. We had over 175 people attend this special evening. We honored two individuals who have been true "angels" to the Lost Boys of Cleveland. Sister Mary Frances Harrington was honored. She has known these young men since they arrived in Cleveland in 2001, and has truly been their "Mother". She has been their advocate and shared their struggles as these young men learned to overcome the many challenges they faced here in the United States. The second award was given to Regina Brett, columnist for the Plain Dealer. She has brought tremendous awareness of and support for the Lost Boys through her powerful columns written in the Plain Dealer over the last several years. Our organization, "The Friends of the Sudanese Lost Boys of Cleveland (FSLBC)" was created as a result of people joining together after Regina Brett wrote about the murder of Majok, one of the Lost Boys residing in Cleveland.
Potluck Dinner for the Lost Boys of Cleveland

Gesu Parish hosted a wonderful Potluck Dinner for the Lost Boys of Cleveland on March 14, 2010. Thank you to Nancy Agacinski and Meg Wilson for planning the event and thank you to the Gesu Singles Group and Social Concerns Committee. The Potluck Dinners are a great way to spread awareness and share the story of the Lost Boys of Sudan. The dinners are a wonderful opportunity for these young men to meet more people in the community for support and friendship.
