Potluck

This Potluck, our first of 2008, was at St. Mary of the Falls Catholic Church.  It was a great way to socialize with the guys and other people who are interested in the Mission of this group.

Commemoration for the Life of Majok Thiik Madut

This was a solemn event that started with a Mass for Majok Thiik Madut, and then was followed by a tree-decorating ceremony on the parish grounds.  A tree was planted in Majok's memory last year on the day of his funeral and decorated by his brothers and friends in Cleveland.  This year the tradition continued with the hanging of ornaments on the tree.

Everyone then travelled to Calvary Cemetery to visit Majok's grave and viewed, for the first time, his new headstone, made possible by the generosity of Milano's Monuments and public donations to the Lost Boys fund.

Thanksgiving Potluck

The food quality and variety at this Potluck was some of the best yet.

Especially popular were the whole smoked turkeys that David H. contributed.

Several of the guys shared some of what they're thankful for this Thanksgiving:

"...we feel like we are your sons." - Peter M.

"I go to sleep knowing we have our own parent here in America and the second in Africa." - Amiol A.

"...thru the help of you, we have attained more jobs." - Amiol A.

"we are thankful to St. Ignatius - they always say yes to us." - Amiol A.

"there is no love like the love shown to us since the death of Majok ...love is the key to success." - Majer M.

"When we sit together like today - we have family - we have a new life - today I am happy." - John G.

"We thank you very much." - James M.
